Logic in verse

I was reading and found this verse "And how many a city was stronger than your city [Makkah] which drove you out? We destroyed them; and there was no helper for them."

verse 13 of chapter 47

I think I found a kind of deduction on it, it's like if John, Smith and Mark are three persons taller than Thomas and failed to reach to something high, therefore Mark will be like 'em and can't reach too to it.
